Despite very promising initial findings in many therapeutic areas and development of many potent and isoform-selective HDAC inhibitors, these efforts resulted in only very few real life applications of HDAC inhibitors and FDA approvals.

To gain better understanding of these aspects of HDAC biology, we developed a toolbox of diverse HDAC photoreactive probes mimicking widely used HDAC inhibitors and capable of interrogating HDAC and deacetylase complexes in intact live cells.
